This phrase is commonly used in the Vedic Meditation community and was originally spoken by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
It means that our Higher Self/Nature/The Universe (we can call it many things), has our best interest in mind, and is nudging us along on an evolutionary path. The thing is, are we surrendering to that process and letting things unfold naturally? Or are we resisting the queues from Nature and controlling/forcing it another way?
As best as we can, we want to take steps on the path that is presenting itself. Similarly to when we are swimming in a river, it is much more fun to relax on our backs and float downstream vs. swimming against the current. Either way, the water is going to move us downstream, but do we want to let go and flow or be dragged?
Whenever chaos ensues or things don’t go according to plan, we can say to ourselves, “Nature knows best how to organize.” Maybe this will give some ease to the situation, reminding ourselves that even if we can’t see it yet, something good is happening—possibly something even better than we could have imagined.
So, let’s enjoy the ride instead of being so focused on the destination. When we orient ourselves in this way, life becomes more frictionless—and more fun! Embracing this teaching becomes a lot easier when we have a practice like Vedic Meditation. This is because each meditation removes accumulated stress and quiets the mind, allowing us to receive those queues from Nature more clearly.
