“Feelings are for Feeling.” ~ Glennon Doyle
Seems obvious right? But it’s not always that easy. It can be hard to feel our feelings—especially the uncomfortable ones like sadness, anger, anxiety, and envy.
Next time these emotions arise, feel the emotion, sit with it, notice where it exists in your body, does it have a certain color? Breathe into it. Stay with the feeling until it dissolves or decreases. Or maybe it stays the same, but you can exist with it in a more embodied way.
This takes practice. I am constantly reminding myself to get out of my head and to feel my feels. When we drop into our bodies and connect to our emotions, we will feel more grounded, and better equipped to handle the ups and downs of life.
