Worried about Loved Ones Getting COVID-19? Try this.
Have you been worried about the people you love contracting COVID-19? Especially those who are at higher risk and/or immune compromised? Me too. I was worrying a lot, especially at the beginning of last week. I knew it wasn’t a healthy state of mind to be in, so I asked my meditation teacher Yashoda Devi Ma how to shift my narrative.
She said that the last thing my loved ones needed were my worried thoughts, because they could feel that vibration and it wasn’t helping them. Instead, she advised me to imagine them surrounded by a golden white light that is protective and healing to their body and lungs.
Now, whenever I have a scared or worried thought, I take a deep breath and imagine my loved ones encased in this golden white light. It feels much more productive than sending them my worries. If inspired, give this a try next time you fall into worry and fear.
We can also practice this exercise with all of the health workers, grocery store clerks, and other heroes that are protecting us.
Hope you’re taking care of yourself and staying well! Sending you love, Rachel.
