Winter Signs of Balance & Imbalance.
Take a moment to read through the different characteristics in the graphic above. See what it means to be in balance and out of balance during the winter.
In Balance: keeping warm, staying quiet, sleeping well, being at home, looking within, preserving, and giving
Out of Balance: being overactive, staying out too late, partying too hard, feeling frustrated, lacking rest and sleep, hoarding, feeling fearful, and being scattered
How are you feeling these days? Do you need to get more sleep? Do you need to give more and hoard less? Do you need to schedule some time to look inward and reflect on the past year?
Personally, I have felt more scattered the last two weeks. I have been dealing with some personal things that have kept me in a state of uncertainty. I am going to take some time this week to rest, look inward, and ground myself, so that I can feel a sense of renewal in the year to come.
If you’re feeling out of balance it might be time to come for an acupuncture treatment. You can book an appointment here.
This image comes from one of my favorite books called, “Staying Healthy With the Seasons,” by Elson M. Hass, M.D. It was the first book I purchased to learn about Chinese Medicine. I bought it four years before going back to school to become an acupuncturist and herbalist. It has provided me with so much knowledge over the years and is filled with beautiful graphics like the one above.
