How to Practice Intentional Listening.

In a time when we are extremely divided as a country, I think we could all listen more and speak less. Instead of thinking about what we will say next when our friend finishes speaking, let’s try to listen with intention. We can do this by settling into our bodies, feeling our feet on the ground, and quieting our minds. Then, if a thought spontaneously comes to us when our friend is finished speaking, we can speak that truth—only if it feels relevant. When we practice this way of conversation, more wisdom will come through.
