6 Ways to Find Balance in the Late Summer Season.
Finding Balance in the Late Summer Season:
Summer is winding down and we are entering into the late summer season. This time of year is represented by the earth element and runs from the third week in August to the Fall Equinox. It is the harvest season—nature’s energy is full and abundant. It is a time for us to soften, digest, and assimilate.
Ways to Find Balance in Late Summer:
Reflect on the harvest in your life. What areas are fulfilling and what areas are draining? How can you simplify by removing what is no longer relevant?
Spend time tending to your home, nesting for fall, and cooking tasty recipes.
Take time each day to breathe deeply into your belly. While doing so, visualize your connection to the earth. Spend time barefoot in nature and practice “earthing”.
Limit cold/raw foods and focus on eating warm/cooked foods. Limit processed sweets and instead eat naturally sweet foods like sweet potatoes, squash, apples, pears, and dates.
Eat seasonal, locally grown, and organic produce, to help your body get in tune with the rhythm of late summer.
Enjoy giving to others. This season is abundant and there is no need to hoard. Spend time caring for others in any way that feels right to you.
